Royal Mail 'needs to get its act together'

Customer is unhappy with Royal MailA Sleafors Standard reader hits out at Royal Mail's services.

A member of the public has expressed their dismay at the parcel delivery services provided by Royal Mail, which they say are both inconsistent and often late.

S M Caithness wrote to the Sleaford Standard to highlight the fact that a parcel which was sent two weeks ago as a birthday present still had not arrived, although a card sent at the same time did.

A telephone call to Royal Mail failed to bear fruit, as nobody answered, with the Queen Street resident feeling that the whole parcel delivery process is inefficient and flawed, which could encourage others to use Post Office alternatives.

"I find it unacceptable that parcels take so long to arrive and even more acceptable that you cannot get an answer by telephoning their office … Royal Mail needs to get its act together," the reader wrote.

The Coventry Telegraph recently reported that several people were angry at the queues at the Bishop Street sorting office, where many had gone to collect parcels which had not been delivered.
