David Frost says the Royal Mail's services are not up to scratch. The Royal Mail has been blasted by business leaders over proposals to raise the cost of first-class stamps by 3p.David Frost, director general of the British Chambers of Commerce, told the Daily Mail that the charges are unacceptable and that the quality of the parcel delivery services it offers has fallen. He said it was particularly bad because the firm has announced the price hikes at a time when many parcels are stuck in sorting offices as a result of strike action across the country."I cannot believe that customers face being asked to pay more for a service that is diminishing rapidly. The way things are going, Royal Mail seems to be in total disarray," Mr Frost told the newspaper. His thoughts were echoed by a spokesman for the Federation of Small Business, who said that an increase of a few pence will have a significant impact on companies who already spend thousands of pounds each year for parcel delivery services.Official customer body Consumer Focus has also hit out at the Royal Mail's planned price increases, as well as Postcomm for failing to protect the interests of the public.Written by Mark MooreArticle Added: 01/10/2009 09:33:12
