The new chief executive of Royal Mail is revealed.
Parcel delivery and letters firm Royal Mail has appointed a new chief executive, it has been revealed.
Moya Greene, who is also currently the head of Canada Post, was yesterday (May 27th) revealed as the new Royal Mail chief, making her the first woman to ever hold the role.
Ms Greene will take up her post in July this year. As well as a new chief executive, the Royal Mail board also has two new members after two non-executive directors were appointed.
She will replace outgoing chief executive Adam Crozier, who left the firm and made a move to ITV earlier in 2009.
Commenting on the news, Royal Mail chairman Donald Brydon said praised Ms Greene's "energy, clear thinking and a proven leadership track record" and also noted her "hugely relevant experience".
Under new plans revealed recently, Royal Mail could be part-privatised. However, the government also said it was important to keep some of the parcel delivery firm public.
