Dispatches programme was imbalanced, the Royal Mail claims. The latest undercover investigation into the practices of Royal Mail staff was unfair, the organisation has claimed.Channel 4's Dispatches sent two reporters to work for the firm and they found widespread indifference to customer service, incidents of theft and poor-quality equipment, which could encourage people to use alternative parcel delivery companies in future. The programme also showed members of the public complaining about damage to their mail and delays in delivery. However, a Royal Mail spokesman told Channel 4 News that the show was imbalanced and focused on a few bad apples."The Dispatches programme totally distorts the reality that the vast majority of Royal Mail's people are hard-working, honest and conscientious and that modernisation and automation is already taking place in our sites across the UK," the representative said.Royal Mail was recently criticised by Bideford resident Sally Bellamy after her postman refused to walk down her street because it was cobbled and posed a risk to his health and safety.Posted by Mark MooreArticle Added: 09/02/2010 09:20:19
