Strike action planned by the Communication Workers Union in London has been condemned by Royal Mail.Proposed strike action by postal workers in London has been criticised by Royal Mail in a new statement. The organisation has claimed that the action by the Communication Workers Union, which will take place over three days from tomorrow (July 8th), will "only hurt customers" and drive them to seek post office alternatives. In addition, the body has also suggested that the move was planned against "essential changes" that had already been agreed with the union and condemned the action as an effort to halt modernisation."All our stakeholders, including our shareholder, the government, are encouraging Royal Mail to modernise even more quickly yet the CWU persists in opposing change," the organisation added.Delivery, logistics and mail centre staff will be taking part in the action in rolling 24 hour strikes across this week.Article Added: 07/07/2009 09:30:10
