The Communication Workers Union has described Royal Mail's management practices as "chaos".A leading trade union has claimed that Royal Mail's business approach is best described as "chaos management". The Communication Workers Union (CWU) has made the comment as a number of postal employees strike across the UK, which may encourage people to seek parcel delivery alternatives. According to the body, Royal Mail is making "panic cuts", as well as enforcing "an aggressive bullying approach". Dave Ward, deputy general secretary of CWU, said: "Sackings occur at the whim of over-promoted managers trying to deliver unrealistic budget savings linked to unfair work rates which people can't cope with." He added that postal workers also feel "let down" by the government. So far this week, workers in areas included Rochdale, Skegness and Boston have held strikes, while action in locations such as Middlesbrough, London and Stirling will take place over this weekend.Written by Lucy PritchardArticle Added: 28/08/2009 09:20:29
