New claims against Royal Mail that could lead people to seek post office alternatives have emerged.Consumers in the UK could be encouraged to seek post office alternatives after claims of research rigging were made against Royal Mail.Staff working for the organisation are believed to have tampered with deliveries to make their services seem more efficient after they allegedly discovered a list of addresses being monitored by a "mystery shopper" scheme organised by Research International UK.By improving services to the locations, it is believed workers in Glasgow could have impacted on the measurement of Royal Mail's performance in the area.In a statement to The Herald, the organisation said an independent investigation has been launched into the claims.The firm added: "As part of this investigation, Royal Mail is conducting interviews at local level to assess whether any of the allegations are accurate."Royal Mail recently claimed that strike action carried out by staff in London and Scotland would only serve to "hurt" its customers.Article Added: 25/06/2009 09:39:42
