Members of the public felt 'insulted' by the snub.
The future of Chesham Post Office remains unclear after officials failed to turn up to a public meeting last night.
Members of the public felt 'insulted' by the snub, according to the Bucks Free Press, which could encourage others to use Post Office alternatives for their parcel delivery needs.
Local residents were furious at the move, with some describing it as "pathetic" and "not good enough".
The town has been without a Post Office since November 13th, which one member of the public said was incredible.
"If, during the war, a bomb had fallen on the Post Office, it would not have taken three months to open a new one," the resident told the newspaper.
Residents in the Scarborough village of Burniston may have to use Post Office alternatives for their parcel delivery needs in the future, as the local branch looks set to close, the Scarborough Evening News reported.
