Redknapp and Royal Mail get Barnado's smiling

Money raised from the stamp auction will go to helping Barnado's.Jamie Redknapp has lent his image to a series of charity stamps from Royal Mail.

Former footballing star Jamie Redknapp has teamed up with Royal Mail to create a set of one-off charity stamps, which were auctioned on eBay to raise funds for children's charity Barnado's.

The limited-edition First Class Smilers stamps saw Redknapp portrayed as an 11-year-old boy, alongside his father Harry.

Personally signed by the footballer, the stamps were sold on online auction site eBay on Father's Day (June 20th)

"I'm really glad to be involved in such a positive initiative and able to support a fantastic cause," commented Redknapp.

"The image that I have chosen is one of my favourite personal family photos. It sums up our shared love of football and how much we've always supported each other throughout our careers."

If you're making a parcel delivery and football isn't your thing, Royal Mail has also released a set of special stamps based on the Stuart age, which depict memorable moments of the historic royal house.
