John Moore could face jail after dumping mail.A postman has admitted to dumping more than 1,500 parcels and letters because he had a "sore hand".John Moore told Ayr Sheriff Court that he was struggling to cope with his delivery and therefore decided to abandon his duties, the Sun reports, which may encourage others to use Post Office alternatives for their future parcel delivery needs.The postman was caught out after 317 letters and parcels were discovered near a riverbank at Mauchline, Ayrshire, before a further 411 packages were found close by.He later told police that he had also put another 300 letters into a bin liner and threw them into the sea, which may encourage others to use the services of alternative parcel delivery providers such as Parcel2Go.com.Police then searched his car and discovered another 453 letters, the newspaper reports.Edinburgh Sheriff Court recently heard how 19-year-old former Royal Mail employee Benedict Nagle stole 60 tickets from letters while working at the Sighthill sorting office, stv.tv reported.Posted by Sarah GowerArticle Added: 09/12/2009 09:36:29
