CWU spokesman says there is still a chance of strike action taking place. Despite Royal Mail bosses and Communication Workers Union (CWU) representatives reaching an agreement to avert strike action until after Christmas, there is still a chance industrial action could take place.Trevor Flowers, CWU spokesman at Watford's Ascot Road Sorting Office, told the Watford Observer that the result of an earlier ballot of members still stands and could be re-enacted next month if the peace agreement collapses. It means members of the public may want to use the services of alternative parcel delivery providers, such as Parcel2Go.com, to ensure their goods get to where they need to be safely and in good time."We don't want to cause inconvenience to the public and businesses but we need a decent agreement out of this and we need to preserve the postal service for the public," Mr Flowers told the newspaper.Meanwhile, Derby-based clothing firm David Nieper has ended its association with Royal Mail following the recent strikes and will use alternative parcel delivery services from now on, thisisderbyshire.co.uk reports.Written by Tom SandsArticle Added: 10/11/2009 16:27:08
