Morghan Sheehy, 54, is to go on trial.A Post Office worker accused of stealing 25,000 (£21,597) has been sent for trial at the Circuit Court in the Republic of Ireland, which may encourage other firms to use alternative parcel delivery providers in future.Morghan Sheehy is suspected of taking the money from a business client of An Post along with falsifying an accounting document to cover his tracks, the Irish Herald reported.Detective Garda Paul McHugh alleged that the 54 year old worked at An Post's Cash Remittance Unit in the GPO, Dublin and lost his job when the allegations came to light.State solicitor Dermot O'Neill said the book of evidence was ready and had been served to the defendant, the newspaper added.A Royal Mail sorting office manager from Plymouth was recently sentenced to six months in prison after he was found guilty of stealing money from birthday and Christmas cards.He was found guilty of two counts of interfering with mail and three of theft.Posted by Rob ElliottArticle Added: 29/01/2010 09:36:40
