Pulborough could be set to get a new post office, it has been revealed.

Plans are being considered to open a new post office in Pulborough, according to reports.

The move could be a welcome reprieve for residents in the area, as the original site closed down two years ago and forced many to seek post office alternatives for their parcel delivery needs.

According to The Argus, the proposed new office will open at the town's MBC Business Centre, although a six-week public consultation is to be held on the issue.

Talking to the newspaper, a Post Office spokesperson said: "Our priority is to safeguard services to the local community in the longer term and the relocation of Pulborough post office service allows us to restore access to our services in this area."

Post Office recently came under fire in Hartlepool for failing to re-open a site which originally closed last week for an audit, the Hartlepool Mail reports.
