Post Office returns to Aberporth

The area lost its local Post Office 18 months ago Proposals to open a new service in a pharmacy shop have been put forward.

Parcel delivery services are to return to the Ceredigion village of Aberporth after plans to open a new Post Office were revealed.

The area lost its local Post Office 18 months ago but proposals to open a new service in a pharmacy shop have been put forward and will be debated during a six-week consultation, the BBC reports.

Should the plan get the green light then the outlet could open as early as June and provide parcel delivery services for 12 months.

Denise Parks, the Post Office's network advisor, told the broadcaster that she is excited about the news and the effect it will have on the community.

"We have been exploring a number of options that would enable us to provide a Post Office service to our customers in the local community and this proposal will do just that," she added.

Parcel delivery services in the Cheshire village of Winsford recently resumed after the reopening of the Post Office, the Winsford Guardian reported.
