Post Office queuing system 'too complicated'

New queuing system is too complicatedJournalist gives the thumbs down to new ticketing system.

The new queuing system introduced at Halifax Post Office is confusing and inefficient, it has been claimed, which may encourage others to use Royal Mail alternatives for their parcel delivery needs.

Virginia Mason, writing in the Halifax Courier, says the ticketing system sees customers standing around aimlessly, not really sure about how the whole process works.

As well as being confusing, the new set-up is time consuming, with Ms Mason waiting 45 minutes to post three parcels, something which may lead others to use Post Office alternatives in the future.

"The problem is too many people don't know where or what they should be going or doing. They get a ticket, plonk themselves down, start chatting for their neighbour and then are oblivious that their number is being called," she added.

A spokesperson for Age Concern and Help the Aged recently told the Daily Mail that the charity is concerned the elderly will not like using new Post and Go machines being introduced in many Post Offices.
