A new branch is to be set up just 50m from the original outlet.Residents in the North Craven village of Wigglesworth will see parcel delivery services return to the area after it was announced that a new outreach postal service is to be introduced to a local pub.Villagers were left without postal services after Chris and Ann Thorpe retired from the local Post Office in December, however, a new branch is to be set up just 50m from the original outlet, the Craven Herald and Pioneer reported.Following a period of consultation, Post Office bosses have agreed to the proposals to establish parcel delivery services from the Plough Inn.Post Office field change adviser Liz Morgan said that the new branch will be welcomed by the community."We apologise for any inconvenience the temporary closure has undoubtedly caused, but I'm sure our customers will be delighted that it will soon be business as usual at their local Post Office," she told the newspaper.A new Post Office recently opened in the Sutton area of Hull, four months after another branch closed its doors, the Hull Daily Mail reported.Posted by Mark MooreArticle Added: 22/03/2010 09:23:30
