The new facility will provide better access for customers.

Plans to move the Bishop Wilton Post Office outreach service will bring significant benefits to the community, including better access for elderly and disabled customers.

Gillian Alstead, field change adviser, told Nafferton Today that the relocation of the branch is currently being considered and if it goes ahead, it will serve the community better than it has been doing.

"This relocation would help to safeguard our presence in the community in the longer term as well as providing improved access for customers with mobility difficulties," she stated.

Should the plans get the green light, the branch will move from Main Street to a new village hall in Worsendale Road, which is just 440 yards away.

A final decision will be taken after the consultation period ends on April 15th, the newspaper added.

The decision to move a Post Office from Launceston to Newport will delight residents in the latter town, councillor Jackie Ellis-Martin told thisiscornwall.co.uk recently.
