Post Office bosses search for Langford postmaster

A new sub-postmaster is being soughtBosses are searching for a suitable candidate to take the sub-postmaster's place.

Post Office chiefs are working to find a replacement for the Langford Road Post Office sub-postmaster who is set to leave next month.

A spokesman told the Weston and Somerset Mercury that bosses are searching for a suitable candidate to take the sub-postmaster's place, claiming that any breaks in parcel delivery services will be temporary.

Residents had expressed concern at the closure of the Post Office, with the local community reliant on its parcel delivery services.

Retired beauty therapist Joy Morris said that many were worried about the rumoured closure, particularly elderly customers.

However, the representative told the newspaper: "We are actively working on getting a service re-instated in Langford as soon as possible, but there will inevitably be a break in service."

A new Post Office was recently opened on Worle High Street in Weston-Super-Mare, much to the relief of local residents who feared they would lose parcel delivery services from the area due to closures, the Weston and Somerset Mercury reported.
