Post Office boss 'threw parcel out of the shop'

Royal Mail has apologisedEder Da Silva tells of Post Office ordeal.

A man who was refused service at his local Post Office has claimed that the boss at the Post Office threw his parcel and letters out of the door.

Speaking to thisisexeter.co.uk, 23-year-old Brazilian Eder Da Silva revealed he was turned away from the Post Office because they would make no money out of sending his pre-paid mail.

Royal Mail has since sent a letter of apology to Mr Da Silva and gave him a cheque for £10.

He told the newspaper that the boss at the Post Office threw his parcel out of the door, something which may prompt others to use alternative parcel delivery services.

"What they forgot to mention in this letter was the fact that both owners were verbally aggressive to me, one of the owners threw my bags and parcels out of the shop," Mr Da Silva said.

The North Devon Gazette recently reported that members of Honiton Town Council stated that the local Post Office was failing in meeting the needs of the local community, with long queues a particular problem.
