Residents in the Bilford Road area of Worcester have raised concerns over the removal of a post box.

Royal Mail's decision to remove a post box in the Bilford Road area of Worcester has raised concern among local residents, according to reports.

The decision to take the box away has come just months after a local post office in the area was closed, meaning many people may need to now seek parcel delivery alternatives.

According to Berrows Journal, Royal Mail is planning to replace the post box after complaints from the likes of resident Gerard Bulling.

He claimed in a letter to the newspaper: "I was astonished to find our post box too has now been removed.

"Royal Mail don't seem to care for the welfare of the many elderly residents who live in this area."

The Cumberland News recently revealed that a village shop in Cumbria is no longer operating post office services.
