Things are unlikely to improve any time soon at Petersfield Post Office. People in the East Hampshire town of Petersfield will have to deal with long queues at the Post Office for the foreseeable future after calls for more staff were not met.More than 2,020 customers signed a petition asking for more staff at the Post Office and sent the petition to Royal Mail bosses, the Petersfield Post reports. However, a meeting between Royal Mail bosses, MP Michael Mates and campaigner Paula Wigley failed to find a solution to the problem, meaning residents will have to continue to queue out into the street unless they use alternative parcel delivery providers, such as Parcel2Go.com.Mr Mates told the newspaper that it is wrong that members of the public have to wait for long periods of time just to send a parcel."It would not be necessary for customers to queue in the street if the Post Office was staffed sufficiently to ensure that waiting times are reasonable," he stated.Residents in Arborsfield will have to use Post Office alternatives for the foreseeable future as no new site has been found to reopen the village Post Office, getwokingham reported.Written by Rob ElliottArticle Added: 26/11/2009 16:28:52
