Parcel2Go.com is in the running for the T-Mobile Fast Growth Business of the Year and the Online Business of the Year accolades.

Parcel2Go.com, which has grown into one of the UK's largest parcel delivery companies, has been shortlisted for a national business award.

Created in 2000 by Fil Adams-Mercer and his son Richard, together with colleague Steve Kramer, the company is in the running for the T-Mobile Fast Growth Business of the Year and the Online Business of the Year accolades.

Using established parcel delivery providers including DHL, Royal Mail and Fed-Ex, the firm boasts more than 800,000 customers a year.

Fil Adams-Mercer said having a strong online presence has been crucial to the company's success.

"Over the last year our business has gone from strength to strength as more and more users are opting to use the cost savings and convenience of an online delivery service," he added.

During the postal strikes which swept the country last year, Parcel2Go.com saw its customer base swell as consumers searched for reliable parcel delivery providers.
