Troops serving in Afghanistan set to benefit from charity event parcel delivery.A biking event in Wiltshire is to coincide with a huge parcel delivery to British troops serving abroad. According to a report in the Wiltshire Standard, bikers are to take part in a live link with soldiers currently living at Camp Bastion, Afghanistan, on Armed Forces Day. The same bikers managed to raise £100,000 for soldiers with a sponsored ride to Hullavington, the source noted. This cash is now to be used to pay for 10,000 parcels to be sent to the troops. The charity ride was organised by Denise Harris. Ms Harris is a member of Afghan Heroes and she lost her son in action last year.At the end of April, more than 30 parcels were sent to serving troops from police officers and staff at Barry police station, reported the Barry and District News. The parcel delivery was organised by neighbourhood PC Gareth Holmes who said he was "overwhelmed" at the support he received for the project.
