The BBC claims competitors could have a field day during the national postal strikes. The national postal strikes will be to the detriment of the Royal Mail but can bring rich rewards to alternative parcel delivery providers such as Parcel2Go.com, it has been claimed.According to the BBC, alternative parcel delivery providers including DHL, Fed Ex, Citylink, UPS and Parcel Force can reap the rewards from the situation by meeting the needs of the general public. While the Royal Mail has frequently bemoaned falling mail volumes with regards to letters, the news provider points out that there is another share of the market where its competitors can establish themselves."An area of even more concern for the Royal Mail will be the lucrative and growing business of delivering non-priority parcels, with competitors seeking to muscle in on contracts to deliver for online retailers in the run-up to Christmas," the broadcaster claims. The Communication Workers Union and the Royal Mail are set to reveal later today whether three further days of strike action will take place.Written by Laura PritchardArticle Added: 28/10/2009 16:52:46
