The first parcel was delivered under a new scheme which sees packages being sent to local pubs if the recipient is not at home.People who miss their parcel deliveries may find themselves heading to the pub rather than the sorting office to pick up their package under a new scheme.Pub campaign group useyourlocal.com has launched the initiative which sees local watering holes storing packages, with 500 establishments across the UK having signed up already.The first package delivered under the scheme was sent to the Gun Inn in Hyde, Cheshire on Friday.Founder Stuart Mills told Sky News: "We have all faced the problem of wanting to order something while not being sure when we'll be home."Useyourlocal.com solves this problem by allowing you to have the parcel sent to your local pub."Pub opening hours are also more convenient for people at work during the day, who want to pick up their parcels in the evening.It is hoped that the scheme will help bring pubs back to the heart of the community.Useyourlocal.com was established in March this year.Article Added: 06/08/2009 09:13:42
