More people than ever are using vouchers when shopping online, a study has found. Some 90 per cent of adults regularly use vouchers when ordering parcel deliveries from online retailers, according to a survey. The poll by bestvaluefares.co.uk, which aims to find train passengers the cheapest fares, found that "voucher culture" is likely to be at the heart of leisure spending in the years to come.It said the spending pattern mirrors the post-war era, when people bought luxuries with vouchers."We've launched bestvaluefares.co.uk because customers are making purchasing decisions based on offers and money-off vouchers more than at any time over the past 50 years," said David Mapp, commercial director at the Association of Train Operating Companies. The news comes as figures from the IMRG Capgemini e-Retail Sales Index showed that people have spent more money online last month than at any time in the last two years, with the sunny weather and World Cup cited as possible reasons for the jump.Posted by Matt Watts.Article Added: 23/06/2010 10:18:31
