More online shopping clubs, which offer exclusive discounts, are being invested in by European backers.

Increasing numbers of European venture capital firms are investing in online shopping clubs, which allow members to benefit from one-off deals and special discounts, it has been reported.

The Financial Times noted that over the past three years, more than €300 million has been invested in the sector, which includes online shopping clubs such as Vente Privee, Brands4Friends, BuyVIP, Born4Shop and SecretSales.

Members of all these sites are offered discounts on certain items which they can then have sent direct to their door via parcel delivery services.

A new online shopping club which has just opened is Keynoir, which the source noted is heavily funded by investors including Index Ventures and ProFounders Capital.

The website gives members access to discounts on activity days, such as spa experiences, and restaurant offers exclusive to the site.

Online shoppers keen to get their hands on discounts could use Wow Voucher Codes, a new site that launched this week.
