Research finds that consumers are looking for signs of validation to ensure a website is real before spending money.Internet shoppers are now ensuring a website is validated before purchasing items from it, research has found.A study by Feefo found that one in ten people have personal experience of parting money to a bogus website, either falling prey to such scams themselves or knowing someone who has, reports Internet Retailing.Due to this, consumers are now looking for sites which carry customer reviews or feedback as forms of validation before parting with their cash - which could lead to increased need for parcel delivery to fulfil the orders on these legitimate sites.Bill Cawley, founder of Feedo, said: "Security is a big issue and independent customer feedback gives shoppers peace of mind when purchasing online."The study also found that one in ten online shoppers have regretted making purchases purely on price.Recent figures from the British Retail Consortium and KPMG revealed that non-food, non-store sales - which include online, mail order and phone sales - were up 20 per cent year-on-year in July.Article Added: 18/08/2009 08:59:27
