Online shoppers 'missing out on £123 a year'

More than £3.3 billion is being lostOnline shoppers could get money back by using cashback websites.

Shoppers who use online retail to buy their goods are missing out on £123 a year by not taking advantage of cashback sites when they purchase items, new research has found.

According to a study by comparison Kelkoo, only two in five internet shoppers have ever used websites such as quidco, Topcashback and Cashbackkings, which could save them money when they buy online.

The survey suggested that, on the whole, Britons are missing out on £3.3 billion in cashback payments and Bruce Fair, managing director of Kelkoo UK, said that the extra funds could come in useful.

"In many households, money is tight at the moment, so shoppers could really be benefiting from the additional money by ensuring that they are making the right decisions in order to get the best deals on their purchases," he stated.

In other news, the IMRG Capgemini e-Retail Sales Index recently showed that more than £3.8 billion was spent buying goods online in August.
