A number of online retailers are looking to boost their sales by trading through websites including Facebook, it has been suggested.
Many online retailers are aiming to boost their sales by trading through sites including Facebook, according to an expert.
Brian Howe, chief strategy officer at advertising network Alvenda, has claimed a number of firms are "very excited" by the tactic, which could lead to a rise in transcations and in turn increase parcel deliveries across the UK.
He added that websites including Facebook have become a "party people do not leave".
"Retailers see Facebook as a clear path to revenue and brand differentiation - they are very excited about the prospects of setting up shop in Facebook," he explained.
"In terms of opening new stores online, retailers see this as analogous to the physical world, where it is about location, location, location."
Mr Howe's comments come after leading online retail site eBay UK celebrated its tenth birthday recently.
