The number people using online retail websites could rise by around five million in the next four years, research has predicted.New research has revealed that the online retail sector could be set to enjoy major growth over the next few years.Figures from research body eMarketer have revealed that the number of people buying online will grow by five million to a total of 31.8 million between 2009 and 2013.It is also believed that 72.5 per cent of internet users will buy at least one item online this year alone, which highlights that many people are set to use parcel delivery services in the coming months.According to Karin von Abrams, the author of the report, online retailers will need to "raise their game" to take advantage of the growth.She explained: "Shoppers want robust security, customer service commitments, consumer reviews, and flexible delivery and payment options, so merchants need to deliver these benefits."Recent research by PayPal found that men spend more than women via online retail sites.Written by Laura RathboneArticle Added: 17/09/2009 14:35:41
