Bruce Fair, managing director of Kelkoo UK, believes consumer confidence in online retail is growing.
The positive figures seen in the latest IMRG Capgemini e-Retail Sales Index are a reflection of how much British shoppers rate the convenience and value online retailers provide, it has been claimed.
Bruce Fair, managing director of Kelkoo UK, said that certain sectors experienced substantial growth in February, including footwear and beauty, which shows that shoppers are becoming increasingly confident in purchasing a wide range of items on the internet.
He stated that consumers are actively looking for their favourite brands online, as they trust that goods they buy from these companies offer the same quality they would had they purchased them on the high street.
"Consumers are increasingly seeking out their favourite high street brands online enjoying the confidence that shopping with big brand retailers gives, but also the convenience and good value that shopping online provides," Mr Fair added.
A recent survey by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills showed that almost two-thirds of internet shoppers are less likely to send goods back to the retailer than they are to a high street store.
