Online food shopping "increasingly common"

Brits increasingly using internet for food shoppingUsing the internet to do their food shopping is increasingly popular with British shoppers.

More people are choosing to do their grocery shopping online, it has been noted.

According to an article on Moneywise, it is increasingly common for people to use the internet to buy their weekly food shop. The piece noted that shopping online can help to reduce stress for a buyer and can especially help those with children avoid the issues associated with taking a bored youngster around a shop.

A number of website users tested the online delivery services of a number of well-known food stores and Tesco's site was praised for its good search facility.

Ocado's service offers a useful recommended items tool, the site's tester said, which flags up items that you may want to purchase alongside others.

"For example, when I bought red peppers, it recommended fajitas and chicken to go with them," tester Nathalie Bonney said.

Shoppers keen to utilise online parcel delivery could also order their food from Asda or Sainsbury's.
