A village will not get their post office back until the beginning of 2010 at the earliest.Residents in a village near Worcester have to continue looking for post office alternatives for a bit longer until a new branch is established in their area.Kempsey Parish Council has agreed to provide £8,000 to establish a new post office in the village, which has survived without services since last year, reports the Berrows Journal.It is hoped that the new funding will require services to return to the village as early as January 2010, however locals will have to use post office alternatives until then.Terry Ward, parish council chairman, said there is a "willingness" to spend money on a new post office.He added: "There's plenty of evidence that we need it. The lack of one is causing significant trouble for people who are collecting their pensions."Residents of Anstey village in Leicestershire saw their local post office close down unexpectedly last week, leaving them having to use other options for their parcel delivery needs, the Leicester Mercury reported.Article Added: 17/08/2009 11:48:04
