The E-Retail Report 2009 from Deutsche Card Services shows online retail is popular with women. Women have embraced online retail more than men, however, gents spend more per purchase than their female counterparts, a new study has shown.According to the E-Retail Report 2009 from Deutsche Card Services, ladies initiate six in every ten purchases made online but spend less than men.Gents spend an average of 111.50 (£100.55) per transaction, with women spending 33.41 less.The report also found that Monday mornings were the most popular time to make a purchase during the month of December, while German online retailers have become more attractive to shoppers in the UK and around Europe.According to the Interactive Media in Retail Group's Capgemini e-Retail Sales Index, December was a strong month for online retail in the UK.Chris Webster, vice president of retail consulting and technology at Capgemini, said that while sales slowed in January online retail remains an attractive way for people to buy goods.Posted by Laura RathboneArticle Added: 08/03/2010 09:20:46
