The attack took place on Vittoria Street. A group of thugs stole a consignment believed to contain jewellery from two Royal Mail workers in Birmingham.The pair were collecting the parcels on Vittoria Street in the city's Jewellery Quarter at 17:20 GMT on February 19th, BirminghamMail.net reported.A member of staff at a nearby jewellery store said a colleague had witnessed the attack but did not wish to comment, while police added that the thieves did not appear to be armed."The offenders are believed to have made off in a Rover 25," a police spokesman told the news provider.Last year, thousands of pounds worth of items were stolen from a Royal Mail van by thieves in Southampton.As well as jewellery, the thieves made away with mobile phones and foreign currency.
