A Post Office has opened its doors again, while plans are also afoot for a new local branch.People living in Maryport have seen their Post Office reopen after a few months of closure.A temporary postmaster has been put in place at Netherton Post Office, after local residents were forced to look for parcel delivery alternatives once the branch closed during June following an audit, reports the Times & Star.People living in Grasslot, Ellenborough, Netherton and Hillside were all left to look for post office alternatives, following a series of closures across the local area which had shut a number of branches.A spokesman for Post Office Ltd said that the investigation into Netherton "is ongoing".Speaking about plans for a new trial branch to open in Ellenborough, he told the newspaper: "A Post Office Essentials branch offers around 85 per cent of the services available at a standard post office and, in the proposal for Ellenborough, it would be open seven days a week for 14 hours a day."The Cambridge Evening News has reported that the village of Great Sampford is set to lose its Post Office when doors close on September 10th.Article Added: 07/08/2009 11:29:20
