High street retailer Marks & Spencers enjoys rise in online sales, new figures show.Parcels of goods from high street favourite Marks & Spencer could become a regular sight on people's doormats, as the retailer has revealed a huge rise in sales in its online sector.According to figures from the firm, its online sales from M&S Direct were up by 48 per cent in the three months ending March 27th.In its stores, the company enjoyed strong sales of formalwear and knitwear, it said, which beat many market analysts predictions for the business quarter.Commenting on the results, chairman and chief executive of the store Sir Stuart Rose said: "We have weathered the immediate impact of the recession but remain cautious about the outlook for 2010-11 given the current challenging environment."By shopping online for their clothes and food, Brits will be in good company - socialite Jemima Khan and US singer Hilary Duff both recently admitted to a passion for buying online.Posted by Rob ElliottArticle Added: 08/04/2010 13:44:14
