Tony's Textiles' online sales have rocketed in recent months.

A textiles business which has had a stall at Beverley's Saturday Market in East Riding for the last 34 years is to concentrate on expanding its thriving online retail arm.

Tony's Textiles has seen more and more orders being made through its website and the family-run company is hoping to capitalise on this success, reports thisishullandriding.co.uk.

Many of the enquiries and sales made through the website come from abroad, which means international package delivery services may be employed to transport the goods from the UK to Europe and beyond.

Tony Kirby, founder and managing director of the firm, told the news provider that this year has seen them sell to people from Russia, the US and Malta, to name just a few.

"We are shipping all over Europe and customers are repeat buying with us. We seem to be sending a lot to the Highlands of Scotland, Inverness and Aberdeen and to the distant isles," he said.

Meanwhile, research from uSwitch.com recently revealed that more than 93 per cent of people in Britain use online retail to purchase goods.
