The Communication Workers Union has confirmed that postal workers in London are to take part in new strikes.Postal workers across London are set to strike over the Royal Mail's plans to change working conditions. Residents in the capital may have to seek post office alternatives due to the action, which will see 7,000 members of the Communication Workers Union (CWU) leave their positions tomorrow (July 25th). In addition, a further strike on Tuesday (July 28th) may also lead people to seek parcel delivery services from other organisations. Mark Palfrey, a London divisional rep for the CWU, said: "Our members are not going to allow Royal Mail to keep imposing change by diktat. "We want the company to sit down and negotiate change with our union, but their current stance is giving us no other option but to take strike action in defence of our jobs and the future of our industry." Last week, a number of postal workers across the UK choose to take action for the same reason.Article Added: 24/07/2009 14:37:22
