Locals claim Post Office system is 'a nightmare'

Customers at the North Hill branch are unhappyNorth Hill branch's new system is time-consuming and badly organised.

Locals in Colchester have claimed the new queuing system introduced at the town's main Post Office is confusing and chaotic.

Customers at the North Hill branch now have to take a number and wait to be called, which has upset many who have to face longer queues, the Daily Gazette reports.

One local, Emily Mousa, had to wait more than 30 minutes to send a parcel, something which could encourage others to use Post Office alternatives for their parcel delivery needs in the future.

"It's a bit of a nightmare and I much preferred the old system. Lots of people are just milling around and the queue doesn't seem to move. I do not know how much they've spent on changing it, but it's a waste of money in my view," she told the newspaper.

Virginia Mason, writing in the Halifax Courier, recently voiced similar concerns about the new ticketing system brought in at her local Post Office, claiming that people are unsure where to stand and are having to wait longer to send parcels.
