A village post office in Lincolnshire has been closed, meaning locals may need to seek out alternative parcel delivery services.

Residents in the Lincolnshire village of Glentham have been hit by news that the local post office has been closed.

The Market Rasen Mail reports that the postal service in Glentham has been shut temporarily, although the shop it is run from is set to remain open.

It is believed that the news could be frustrating for local people, who may now need to seek out post office alternatives for their parcel delivery needs.

Talking to the newspaper, a post office spokesman said the decision had been made following an audit.

"We are working to reopen the branch as soon as possible and apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused in the meantime," the source added.

More postal services across the UK could be affected this week by strikes organised by the Communication Workers Union.
