Knutsford residents angry at parcel delays

Conditions are too dangerous for postmenRoyal Mail claims that conditions on the ground are too dangerous for its staff.

Residents in Knutsford have expressed their dismay at having received no mail or parcel deliveries for a week.

Royal Mail claims that conditions on the ground are too dangerous for its postmen and women to work, despite the fact that deliveries of milk and newspapers are back to normal, the Knutsford Guardian reported.

Richard Greaves, from the Warford Park area, told the newspaper that he has been to the sorting office for an explanation and was told that the decision had been taken by senior management.

"So as a result I am having to leave the house and go to the sorting office because my wife is expecting an important letter and she needs to read it," he added.

Residents in the Edmundbyers, Blanchland and Hunstanworth areas of County Durham have also expressed their anger at recent parcel delivery delays, with some people not receiving mail for 20 days, the Northern Echo reported.
