eBay is encouraging people to start their spring cleaning early this Saturday and Sunday.

It is waiving its insertion fees for private sellers, who can list up to 100 items without having to pay this charge.

The regular proviso, that items cannot be listed using professional selling tools, such as TurboLister or Selling Manager Pro, applies, and items must be listed in the auction format, with a minimum start price of £1. As the same offer also applies in the Republic of Ireland, the minimum listing fee here is €1.50.

eBay reminds account holders that the offer is only open to those who comply with the company's minimum seller performance standards. Each seller can find this information listed on their My eBay page, under 'account status'.

With the weather set to stay grim for many, this could be a productive way to spend the time instead of venturing outdoors.
