Residents on the Isle of Man are nearing the deadline for sending parcels so that they arrive in time for Christmas. <br/>

Residents living on the Isle of Man have been advised that they have only a few days left to get their parcel delivery in the post in time for Christmas.

December 21st is the last day for sending letters, large letters and packages to the UK mainland.

According to the Isle of Man Examiner, Douglas Sorting Office will be open for longer during the busy Christmas period to help ensure that parcels reach their intended destinations.

The news provider added that the deadline for Parcelforce 48 deliveries is Tuesday December 22nd and December 23rd for Special Delivery and Parcelforce's next-day UK and local delivery.

Homeowners should send items before 18:45 BST to ensure they leave for the UK that same evening.

Earlier this week, a Royal Mail worker wrote for the Guardian that it is likely that more parcels will go undelivered at Christmas than other times of the year.
