A new Post Office is set to open in the Hessle area of Hull.

A new Post Office is to be opened in the city of Hull, a local news source has reported.

According to the Hull Daily Mail, a new Post Office will soon open in Hessle, after a businessman bought the outlet after the original store shut down.

Speaking to the newspaper, Gary Mitchell said he "believed in the Post Office" and was eager to take over the franchise. He has since signed a 15-year lease on the building.

According to the source, the franchise was advertised by the Post Office but there were calls in the town for the local service to be cut.
Now, the new Post Office will open on May 10th and those who worked in the previous branch will be reinstated.

Mr Mitchell said: "The post office has a lot to offer and I think the people of Hessle will react very positively to the new service."

Another new Post Office was recently opened in the Sutton area of Hull, the newspaper also reported.
