The government plans to sell off much of its old equipment.Internet users could find themselves on the receiving end of a parcel delivery from the government, after the Treasury announced plans to sell off spare equipment in an eBay-style auction.The BBC reports that this is one of the suggestions from members of the public being considered by the Treasury to help cut costs and raise money. A phase-out of National Insurance cards and fewer criminal records bureau checks for junior doctors are two other proposals which the government is keen on. Apparently old, unwanted items such as furniture or computers from government offices could be among the items that come under the hammer. Members of the public had been invited to submit ideas on how the government could reduce Britain's huge public deficit.
