eBay might be the best option to look for a new Xbox 360 Slim, it is claimed.

As the launch of the new slimmer version of the Xbox 360 takes off in the UK it seems that some high street shops are running low, possibly making a parcel delivery from eBay the best option, it is claimed.

For those looking for bargain, there are not many shops still offering cut prices on the new console - Tesco had been selling it for a £10 reduction off the £199 recommended retail price but is now experiencing shortages, according to idealo.co.uk.

The website said: "If you’re still interested in getting your hands on the slimmed down console anytime soon, it looks like you might have to fork over full price or check listings on eBay."

In addition, it also appears that shops such as Sainsbury's and Game are also short of the 250GB console, after demand for it has been unexpectedly high.

The new version of the now classic Xbox 360 boasts built in Wi-Fi and a new "whisper quiet" operating noise.
