Future of Lyme Regis Post Office secured

Lyme Regis Post Office will remain openLes Gilbert, the sub-postmaster, is pleased that parcel delivery services will remain available.

Parcel delivery services in the Dorset town of Lyme Regis have been secured after the sale of the building housing the local Post Office.

Owners David and Muriel Gilbert have confirmed the sale of the property and that the buyers wish to create a retail complex called 'The Village', Devon 24 reported.

Les Gilbert, the sub-postmaster, told the newspaper that the news will come as a welcome relief to local people who can continue to use the outlet's parcel delivery services as normal.

"This is extremely exciting news that should secure the long-term future of the Post Office in Lyme Regis … we plan some significant changes to ensure that the Post Office and retail business best meet the needs of the people," he added.

Parcel delivery services in the Cheshire village of Winsford recently resumed with the reopening of the Post Office at a new site at 19a Dingle Walk, the Winsford Guardian reported.
