A Facebook hoodie usually reserved for the site's employees is causing a storm on eBay.

People getting parcel delivery services for items bought on eBay have been offered the chance to own a little bit of internet history, after an 'inner circle' Facebook hoodie was put up for grabs on the online auction site.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg recently removed his garment at the D8 conference on privacy, revealing that the inner lining is adorned with an esoteric design featuring the social networking site's unofficial motto - "Making the world open and connected".

Until now, it's believed the item of clothing was available only to Facebook employees, but one has now appeared on eBay - although it's going for the princely sum of more than $4,000 (£2,780).

Kindly, the seller has offered free international package delivery for the item, for which 15 per cent of the proceeds will be donated to privacy body the Electronic Frontier Foundation.

Another unusual item to have appeared on eBay in recent days is a "power lunch" with prominent investor Warren Buffet, for which bids have surpassed $50,000 (£34,700).
